If you have any questions regarding which of Legacy’s warranties apply to the product which you have purchased, please consult your printed invoice or contact your Legacy Customer Service Representative. In the absence of any warranty information on the face of your printed invoice the warranty information on the reverse of your printed invoice shall be controlling.

Please note that as described in the Common Warranty Terms:

  • Legacy Electronics’ warranties extend only to the authorized dealer who purchased the product directly from Legacy.  Only Buyers who purchased their products directly from Legacy Electronics are covered by the warranties.  No warranty offered by Legacy Electronics is transferable.  Legacy Electronics specifically disclaims any warranty to any party who did not directly purchase from Legacy.  All warranty requests require proof of purchase documentation (dated invoice or packing slip).

  • Legacy shall make the final determination as to the existence and cause of any defect.

  • Modification to, or tampering with, any Legacy product including the label containing the Legacy Part Number shall immediately void any applicable warranty.  If the label containing the Legacy Electronics part number is removed, damaged or missing, any applicable warranty shall be immediately void.

  • For any claim made under warranty, Buyer’s exclusive remedy shall be limited, at the Seller’s election, to repair or replace the defective products, or refund of the purchase price thereof, or crediting of the same against future purchases by buyer at the original purchase price or fair market value, whichever is lower.

  • No Legacy Electronics reseller, agent, or employee, is authorized to make any modification, extension, or addition to any warranty.

  • Credit memos issued will expire 365 days from the issued date.

Will Using Legacy Electronics Memory Void My Existing Manufacturers Warranty?

No! The Magnuson-Moss Act of 1975 did a number of things to help consumers. One of the things it did was to outlaw so called “Tie-In Sales” provisions. This means that a seller may not require you to purchase goods directly from them in order to avoid nullifying the manufactures warranty.

Because of the Magnuson-Moss Act a computer manufacturer may not void your warranty for using third party hardware, unless they can show that the hardware was improperly or incorrectly installed.
