Legacy Electronics Enthusiastically Selects Sioux Falls South Dakota For Company Expansions

SAN CLEMENTE, CA — February 14, 2011 — Legacy Electronics’ chief executive officer, Jason Engle, announced today his company’s decision to establish new sales and administrative staff offices in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  In addition, the firm plans to expand its electronics manufacturing operations to Sioux Falls or a neighboring community, said Engle, who is currently in South Dakota searching for a suitable production facility.

“Through independent research and several meetings with officials in South Dakota, we confirmed our choice” said Engle.  “We want to thank the South Dakota Governor’s Office of Economic Development, and the Sioux Falls Mayor’s office for their assistance, and for introducing us to the state’s top leaders and resources.  We met with local officials in several states to determine where we might best meet our needs to reduce costs and continue to serve the needs of our customers, the design engineers and system integrators.  At the same time, we want quality of life for our employees.  South Dakota met every requirement for a great place to do business and to live,” added Engle.

State and City Support

Engle added that South Dakota’s commitment to business was unequivocally clear during his search for a new expansion location.  “Both Former Governor Mike Rounds, and now Governor Daugaard have dedicated the people and the resources to show entrepreneurs, employers and hard-working employees that they are appreciated in South Dakota. The state strives to be #1 in this regard.”

South Dakota’s Governor, Dennis Daugaard, said “Seeing quality companies like Legacy Electronics expanding to South Dakota tells me that we are doing things right. This is an industry that we know works in South Dakota. I’m confident Legacy’s transition will be a beneficial one, and I’m very excited to see this company grow in our state.”

Cost Savings

In addition to the state’s beneficial tax structure and availability of manufacturing sites, Engle commented that South Dakota’s lower energy costs was a major factor in the company’s relocation decision.   “And thanks to the local technical institute,” added Engle, “we’ll be able to draw on a valuable skilled labor force.”

Timing and Hiring

Legacy Electronics has already chosen the location of their new executive and administrative office at 300 N. Dakota Avenue, Suite 314 in Sioux Falls.  The company expects to increase its employee base as a result of the expansion, including staffing for 24-hour manufacturing operations.

“I’m happy to say I’ve already moved my home and family to Sioux Falls,” added Engle, “and expect that key company directors and managers will relocate soon to bring the new facility up into full operation once established.”
