Legacy Electronics Finalizes Purchase of Headquarters and Manufacturing Facility

Legacy Electronics has negotiated the purchase of their lease building. The company plans to deepen their roots in South Dakota by further expanding their manufacturing and increasing their workforce.

CANTON, S.D.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Legacy Electronics, a USA designer and manufacturer of high-density memory modules, circuit boards and solid-state drives (SSDs), in conjunction with the South Dakota’s REDI Fund (Revolving Economic Development & Initiative) and First Dakota National Bank has negotiated the purchase of their leased building. The company plans to deepen their roots in South Dakota by further expanding their manufacturing and increasing their workforce.

“The company strategically relocated from California to South Dakota in December, 2010 in anticipation of growing our business,” said Jason Engle, CEO of Legacy Electronics. “We found a business climate that exceeded our expectations, and working with the GOED (Governor’s Office of Economic Development) and local leadership has demonstrated that South Dakota is dedicated to providing businesses with economic options and development advice when it comes to expansion,” added Engle.

“The REDI Fund is designed to help businesses expand and promote job growth and Legacy Electronics, Inc. is doing exactly that,” said South Dakota governor, Dennis Daugaard. “Whenever we can offer assistance through funding that supports the creation of quality, technical jobs, I’m pleased to do so. Many thanks to Legacy Electronics and their entire team for their continued investment in South Dakota,” Daugaard commented.

“First Dakota is excited to be part of this endeavor with Legacy Electronics,” stated Mike Ness, president of First Dakota National Bank of Sioux Falls. “Any time we can assist in making someone’s dream become a reality, we are there. Legacy Electronics is a great fit in South Dakota.”

“We feel we have established a foundation for continued expansion and are prepping for more growth now with plans for better use of existing space. We are committed to long term development here in South Dakota,” stated Engle.
